Giving businesses a dedicated Enterprise Web Store for extensions

Later this year, we’ll be previewing a new Enterprise Web Store for extensions, which will enable enterprises to offer a curated web store experience. With this launch, a business user can easily access all of the recommended extensions for their organization right from the web store landing page.We’re also increasing the visibility of extension activity with extension telemetry integration into Google SecOps. We know our risk scoring capabilities are something customers already find valuable, so we’ll also be giving more risk score information to IT teams inside our management console.At Google, we believe AI should be made available to users in the context of their workflow. For this reason, we’ve made features like Google Lens, Help me read, and Help me write available for workers to be productive within Chrome. But, we know work also happens outside of the browser, which is why we offer AI features across ChromeOS as well.Most recently we announced new features for Chromebook Plus, our line of devices that combine AI-enabled software with more powerful hardware. Specifically, we’ve extended many features like Help me read to summarize long PDF documents, Welcome Recap to pick up where you left off at login, and Live Translate for translated audio captions so that users can get the help of AI within the context of their work.

New AI-powered improvements to the Google Admin console, including natural language powered search

When it comes to controls, we’ll be giving you full control over AI usage across Chrome and ChromeOS. Today, we allow you to manage this granularly by each feature, and we’re working on supporting broader policies you can apply to all AI capabilities that you may want to evaluate before allowing. We also want to help IT teams with their day-to-day work.Later this year, we’ll be introducing AI recommended policies and natural language powered search within the Google Admin console. Imagine being able to sign in to the Admin console and have it recommend a policy, like setting a homepage for a specific group or organizational unit, and all you have to do is click a button to enable it. We have a ton of powerful admin features coming, so definitely stay tuned!Secure by designSecurity is not an afterthought, it’s integrated into every aspect of our products. We offer robust, built-in security features to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance, and are continuously adding to the protections available to enterprises.

We introduced Chrome Enterprise Premium earlier this year. This allows companies to apply advanced threat and data protections right in Chrome. We are adding even more data protections, and have new capabilities organizations can take advantage of: copy/paste control policies and an evidence locker where security teams can store files and data for later investigation. We also just launched screenshot protections in Private Preview and this feature will be generally available in November.Let’s say one of your end users attempts to copy data from a customer support application and tries to paste it outside of Chrome into an unsanctioned app like Notepad. Now Chrome will block that copy/paste action, and give IT admins and security teams the reporting they need to do any necessary remediation.

If you ever find that your ChromeOS devices are performing more slowly, or something about the device isn’t the same, there’s a way to go back to the last known version of your OS, without having to powerwash it entirely.
